We are a group of friends and colleagues from Peterborough's Energy Recovery Facility.
The site is ran by Viridor on behalf of Peterborough City Council.
The ERF enables the City of Peterborough to divert 85,000 tonnes of residual (black bag) waste from landfill each year, recovering vital energy and generating 7.25 megawatts, enough to power 16,000 homes.
We are celebrating our love of all things rubbish with our entry to this years race...The Refuse Rocket!
We are using this extremely exciting and unique opportunity to raise money and awareness for an amazing local charity, Anna's Hope.
Anna’s Hope is the leading children's brain tumour charity in the East Of England. They are committed to giving hope to children and young people diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The charity was inspired by Anna Olivia Hughes, who tragically died from a brain tumour aged only three years and eight months, and was set up by Anna's parents Rob and Carole Hughes and her five Godparents in October 2006.
